Independent Publishers Group (IPG) is pleased to announce that it has appointed Andrew Boughton, Chief Operating Officer of United Independent Distributors (UID), and its group companies, Eurospan, Marston Book Services and Orca Book Services, effective 31 March 2023. Boughton succeeds UID’s former COO, Mark Chaloner, who has left the company to pursue other career opportunities.

Effective immediately, IPG has executed a four-part plan to integrate and stabilise UID, the UK's leading distributor of independent publishers.

Independent Publishers Group (US-based IPG) is pleased to announce that it has acquired United Independent Distributors (UK-based UID).

This global merger includes the acquisition of Eurospan, the UK’s leading sales and marketing agency for international academic and professional publishers, and the distribution centres, Marston, Orca, and Turpin. This expands on IPG’s core business of providing publisher services to high-quality independent publishers from around the world.

In a transaction completed 4th May 2020, leading sales and marketing agency Eurospan has been acquired by United Independent Distributors.
